CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Lovetts are pleased to welcome the appointment of Chris Hunter to the new role of Client Relationship Manager. Chris previously worked in our PreLegal Department and is thus very familiar with Lovett's core business standards and services.

Chris will be contacting and visiting many of our clients over the next few months with the aim of ensuring that clients are benefitting fully from all the recovery services and facilities that Lovetts are offering. He is also happy to answer any queries or issues that arise from clients day to day business activities with us. If you wish to contact Chris with any queries or comments please either drop him an email on chrish@lovetts.co.uk or call him on 01483 457500

INTEREST ON COUNTY COURT JUDGMENTS

Interest is normally only payable on county court judgments of at least £5,000 provided they don't relate to a regulated consumer credit agreement.  However, you may not be aware that interest is payable on a county court judgment, however small, if the creditor could have claimed Late Payment Interest.  The claimant doesn't have to have actually claimed LPI.  The test is whether they could have actually done so.

We are happy to suggest appropriate wording that can be used in clients' terms and conditions. If you would like any more information on this matter or any other issue please do not hesitate to contact us.

COMBATING THE CRUNCH

In March of 2008 the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) sent a useful leaflet, headlined 'Combating the Crunch', to 20,000 businesses across Britain. As well as offering tips on how to manage cash flow during this 'crunch time' for businesses it also stated: "Whether the credit crunch is a reality or a myth, there is no doubt that finance to support business is becoming less readily available."

We can safely say the events of the last couple of months have clarified the 'reality or a myth' conundrum! It certainly is not a time to allow your credit control to slip. As well as practical measures that can be taken such as bringing forward the date from which a debtor may be chased, you can also take advantage of Lovetts fast track debt recovery service 'ACCELERATE' which can reduce significantly the time it takes to recover your debts. Why wait for other creditors to collect before you. If you think your customer may be in trouble, use a CaseManager letter before action starting at £2.00.
